There are many small steps governments can take to reduce the seriousness of air pollution but there isn’t a set solution to end air pollution at all right now. Governments can make rules and regulations such as making idling of an engine illegal and many others similar to that that would make a small but big difference. There are more things us individuals can do to help slow down the effects of air pollution such as carpooling with friends and family, turning off your lights and appliances when they aren’t being used, stop buying products that are manufactured using fossil fuels and investing in solar power. I have explained why air pollution is such a risk to our earth and the people, animals and plants in it. Things us and our governments can do to slow it down or stop it, what it can do to people, animals and plants, what it can do to our earth, what it's caused by and what air pollution is. I hope i have persuaded you to do some more research on air pollution and other ways to stop it. |

Research shows that air pollution affects different ecosystems in many ways. Chemicals such as sulfur, nitrogen and mercury can harm lakes, streams, aquatic wildlife, wild animals, trees, soil and tree leaves. That may sound like a lot already but there are much more chemicals in the air that cause other harmful effects that would be too much to list. Nature and wildlife are not the only living things affected by air pollution. We are also badly affected by it too. Air pollution can cause heart diseases, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, acute respiratory infections in children, asthma, headaches, dizziness, nausea, heart disease, lung cancer, asthma, Alzheimer's, autism, parkinson's disease and much more diseases. .Approximately 7 million people and 1.1 seabirds and mammals die from illnesses caused by air pollution worldwide every year. ..Sadly the world has turned a blind eye to air pollution and hasn’t done much to help end it but companies and many individuals have started using solar and electricity rather than energy from fossil fuels. |

Good afternoon/morning Ms Riverans, Ms Robert and fellow classmates. Today I'm going to be presenting my ted-talk to you about the issue of air pollution. What is air pollution? Air pollution is when a mixture of toxic, harmful and poisonous substances and solid particles enter the air. These harmful substances come from a large amount of daily activities we do everyday such as driving a car, littering, buying products manufactured in large factories, using packaged spray products, using a home heater or gas stove and many more things we do on the daily. I first became aware of this issue earlier this year around the time Australia was experiencing awful bushfires. It worries me because anybody in my family, myself or somebody I know could be affected by it with a severe illness because of air pollution. Everybody should be fearful of air pollution as it can affect anyone and everyone without them even knowing. |
