History: The $10.5 million center was named after Auburn president James E. Martin who was a key player in getting the center. Current Use: There are two pools - one is the new pool, the Olympic size swimming pool. The other is the old pool, or instructional pool. Interesting Fact: the pool has a special gutter system that absorbs the waves rather then sending them back to the pool, reducing the turbulence a swimmer must face. |
