Definition

Demi: sink towards the floor, straight back, heels touching the floor and turned out in all positions (1,2,4,5)

Grand: sink towards the floor, straight back, heels come of the floor for all positions except for 2nd; turned out.

Battement tendu (e)
Definition
extend leg in front, to the side, or the the back of you. feet are pointed, turned out, working leg and standing leg are both straight through-out thr whole excercise.

battement dégagé (jeté, glissé)

Definition
extend leg in the front, to the side, and behind. The working and standing leg are straight at all times, but the working leg is about 2inches of the floor on every extension.

rond de jambe à terre (en dehors & dedans)

Definition
working and standing leg are striaght. The working leg is extended to the front or back for preparation. if in the front, en dehor; if in the back en dedan. All on the floor.

Definition
to melt; you prepare by having your working leg to the side and then you bring it in and both legs bend (melt) together and straighten together; to the front, side, or back.

working leg moves to the top of the knee, turned out and then lifts into an attitude, and then extend fully in the air.

to strike, the leg is to the side for preparation. While turned out your foot comes in to the abkle and then you strike out in the front, side, or back
