| Many industrial centers in Israel are facing severe air pollution problems. This is happening because of the industrial and auto emissions. And because of the sharp increase in vehicle density from 34 cars per every thousand people in 1954 to over 230 cars per every thousand people in 1993 which has lead to an ever- growing threat in Israel's air quality. Jerusalem's air pollution could be as bad as Mexico City by 2010. |

| Recently there has been a decrease in sulfur oxide emissions.This is because of the shift to low sulfur coal, and lead emissions. Which is happening because of the reduction of the lead content in gasoline. To help the issue a special Knesset meeting is being held to try to help. Hopefully, soon the people of Israel can breathe clean air, like they used to. |

| There is very little rain because Israel is a semi-arid country. Which means no rain falls for half of the year. Recently the amount of water used per person has increased for non essential reasons such as private pools, Jacuzzis, car washes, and water parks. Also in the Kinneret, the water is close to the black line. Which is the level where water can no longer be pumped for use. |

| Over the last month Israel has recieved a lot of rainfall. Which has been leading some people to believe that the seven year drought is coming to an end. Israel will start to continue the practicing of water conservation, and pioneering the development of the drip irrigation method. Israel will also have to start decreasing the amount of water used for non essential reasons per person. Hopefully this will help Israel conserve more water for essential reasons like drinking it to stay hydrated. |

| Most of the rivers and streams in Israel are being significantly polluted. A lot of major chemical factories are dumping their industrial waste into major bodies of water. For example the Kishon river has been hit really bad because for over 40 years. This is because Haifa Bay's chemical industry has discharged its raw industrial wastes directly into it. |

| Recently the IUED ( the Israeli Union for Environmental Defense), has done a lot to help. They have won multiple court cases against big polluting factories in Haifa. Especially the Haifa Chemicals Ltd., which has had many,polluting emissions there. But since the court cases, the amount of emissions have started to decrease. Hopefully because of this, a big decrease of dumping industrial wastes will occur. |

| Israel has been facing a severe solid waste prroblem. Which is due to the increasing amounts of garbage yearly. Many garbage disposal sites are very old,poorly desigened and managed. And they are also near their full capasity level. Also now less than 5% of the garbage in Israel is recycled. |

| Recently there has been a very sharp increase in recycling. Also many old and inefficient landfills are being closed. And newer bettter for the environment ones are being opened. Hopefully more people will continue/ start to recycle again. |

| Recently Israel has been using there advanced technology to try to find cures for the deseases. The cures are not only medicine but machines. Also Israel has been informing the public that they need to stop smoking annd eating to much. Especially with a lack of excercise. And all of the deaths that are occuring because of this. |

| Redcently population growth has been a problem for Israel. This is especially bad because Israel is such a small country. Over the last 50 years, Israel's population has risen over 4.5 million people. Which is causing Israel great harm, and causing them to be over populated. |

| There is not really a good solution to a country becoming over populated. What Israel can do is convince people to live in non populated areas, just to take up unused space. Or Israel can try to expand their country. But most likely all that will do is cause more problems for them with the palestinian's. |

Which is very small for a country, which makes it easy for other armies/countries to invade. Especially because Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and other Israeli cities are within artillery range of any palestinian state. |

| Recently Israel has been using better technology to produce their weapons. To help protect them when they are being invaded. Also Israel has been building more bases around themselves. At places that they can possibly be invaded in. So they can be ready for any invasion/ attack. |

This is especially a problem because the Israel's are not making enough money to buy the goods. And are not able to support their families. |

| Hopefully the prices of the essential goods will start to go down. And that the Israeli people won't spend their money on non essential things, like games, pools, and toys. the other solution is if the Israeli's can start working more hours each week to support their families. Even if it takes time away from them that they spend with their families. |
