Diagnosis: no specific test, virus can be detected with PCR testing, fluorescent Ab testing

Transmission: inhalation of organism commonly in soil with bat or bird feces
Clinical Signs: anorexia, weight loss, dyspnea, lethargy, dehydration
Diagnosis:radiographs, blood smears, transtracheal wash, bronchoalveolar lavage
Zoonotic: yes

Definition
Francisella tularensis
Transmission:eating infe ted meat, inhalation of organism, tick bite, and bite wounds
Clinical Signs: coughing, diarrhea, sudden death, oral and lingual ulcers, draining abscesses
Diagnosis: serologic evidence of microscopic agglutinating testing, culture.
Zoonotic: yes potential bioterrorism agent

Transmission:consuming infected cat feces, infectiouf of infected tissue cysts in meat, and vertical transmission
Complete life cycle in cats only
Clinical Signs:fever, anorexia, lethargy, dyspnea, weight loss, icterus, V&D and lameness
Diagnosis: fluorescent Ab assy, agglutination test, ELISA, PCR
Zoonotic: yes especially to pregnant women and immunocompromised people
