Term
Path of blood through heart of amph. with lungs active |
|
Definition
Blood comes from sinus venosus into right atrium. Goes through the antrioventricular valve. The blood in the outer lane pushes into into the inner lane where it goes through to the right/left pulmocutaneous to the lungs. It comes back through the pulmonary vein into the left atrium. That passes into the ventricle into the trabeculae which directs it in the outer lane to the semi-lunar valve. Back in the right atrium it heads to the right and left systemic arches to go to the rest of the body |

|
Term
Path of blood through heart of amph. without the lungs |
|
Definition
Comes from sinus venosus like always (right atri) and heads down into ventricle. Without anything in the outer lane, it goes into that lane itself and heads through teh semilunar valve to the systemic arches. The left atrium is never used |
