• ensure that decocking/safety lever is in the fire position
• tactical: check mag, retract the slide to the rear and release.      non-tactical: clear/unload pistol 
• still no fire: remove mag and retract slide to eject the chambered cartridge. insert new mag.
• squeeze the trigger
• stille no fire replace ammunition
• still no fire clear/unload the pistol and refer to operator's manual

Slide does not fully seat forward M9

• place decocking/safety lever in safe (down) position
• remove mag
• grasp the slide and retract to rear, lock with slide stop
• inspect chamber and bore and remove any obstructions
• insert another loaded mag
• release slide. place decocking/safety lever in fire position, aim, and attempt to fire.  

M16A4

Gun fires very slowly, can be due to excessive friction or loss of gas. Take following action: Move the regulator setting to the number two or three poistion. Clean, inspect and lube the gun.
