 Definition
an allele that produces NO functional product. Clearest example is a deletion of the gene.

 Definition
same as a null mutation.

Hypomorph
 Definition
reduction in function. Any allele that permits a subnormal expression of the normal phenotype. Sometimes called a "leaky" mutation. Ex: mutation that makes an enzyme unstable, so reduces the amount of functional product.
