Intention - Reduce IAQ problems related to the construction process, Help sustain comfort and well-being of construction workers and building occupants Implementation - a) Develop and implement an Indoor Air Quality Management Plan for during construction which meets or exceeds SMACNA IAQ Guidelines for Occupied Buildings Under Construction: 1) protect stored onsite or installed absorpative materials from moisture damage (insulation, carpeting, ceiling tile and drywall) 2) AHU's (Air Handler Units) during construction must have filters with a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of 8 per ASHRAE 52.2-1999 3) Control Pollutant sources (paints, carpet) 4) Interrupt contamination pathways 5) Schedule installation of materials to avoid contamination Note: When submitting for this credit, PHOTOS highlighting the methods used for the IAQ Management Plan should be included with the submittal. Also, any descriptions for any special circumstances should be submitted as well.
