Definition
It was a hall for people to hang out, except it was all made out of limestone. The people who hung out at there felt like they were more important and higher than the other citizens since the hall was on top of a platform.

Definition
This was a place where everyone went to get their food, drinks, catch up on gossip, and vote. It was located in Athens, Greece, and made from marble and limestone. It was a gift from King Attalos II to Athens for letting him study there.

Seated Boxer:


Hellenistic Greek. c. 100 B.C.E. bronze

Definition
It is made out of bronze lost wax casting, and with some copper worked into the bronze so it could appear as wounds. Most Greek art depicted ideal and perfect human forms but this depicted a wounded boxer. The symbolism behind this was to show the pain that most athletes go through to achieve their goals.

Definition
It was a tomb/memorial to pay tribute to the fallen warriors of the battle between the Roman's and the Ostrogoths. The figures are crammed together in contrast to the Roman convention of having open space around the figures.

Definition
This building was made from Stone and was used as a meeting place for Monks. It was one of the oldest renaissance buildings, and is often compared to the pantheon for its architecture.

Definition
This painting is located in the Louvre. The artwork depicts the entombment of Christ, and the artist masks people with symbols of emotion. The symbolism is to express a new spirituality. The artwork shows many different styles, just like the church was going through changes in their beliefs.

A surrealist object inspired by conversation where Picasso said that someone could cover anything with fur.

Definition
It was used as a royal residence for the ruler, and it was made out of coursed beanie blocks. The grain bine symbolized loyalty, power, and generosity.
