-This painting introduces the psalms and depicts their composer, King David who strangely resembles charles the bald(!) -Four musicians surround him, he is inside a mandorla, establishing the heavenly realm. Personifications of the virtues fill the four corners. -His nudity here is not understood in the classical heroic sense but as extreme humility to earn God's favor. -They presented this image as an example for charles to follow, but they would be dissapinted with charles who later gave away church lands to pay off his supporters.
