Adult Dose: 1-2 G IV over 1-2 Mins.

PEDI Dose:  25-50 MG/KG IV/IM

 

To Reverse torsades de pointes: (Adult): 1-2 G IV followed by infusion of 0.5-1.0 G/HR IV.  PEDI: SAME

 

To provide prophylaxis following acute myocardial infarction: 1-2 G IV over 5-30 mins.  Children don't usually have MI's.

 

To Manage seizures caused by ecalmpsia:  2-4 G IV/IM
