MOA: Blocks bicarb reabsorption. Increases Na loss at proximal tubule. Increases K loss at distal tubule.
Cx: Glaucoma, excretion of weak acids, AMS, Epilepsy
CI: Hepatic cirrhosis (decreased NH3 excretion) |

MOA: Inhibits Na resorption at cortical diluting site (independent of acid-base imbalances, inhibited by NSAIDs, dependent on PG synthesis )
Cx: Essential hypertension, generalized edema (CHF)
Effects: Decreased Ca+uric acid excretion, increased K+Mg+Iodine+Bromide excretion, hyperglycemia from decreased insulin release |
