1- crisis is self limiting, usually 4-6 weeks. 2- resolution results in 1 of three levels 1)higher level of fxning, 2) same level of fxning, or 3) lower level of fxning. 3-goal of crisis intervention is to return the individual to previous fxning state 4-forms of resolutions depends on clinet's actions and interventions by others. 5-clients aremore open to help during a crisis. 6-client in a crisis situation is assumed to be mentlly healthy and has fxned well in the past. 7-Crisis interventions deals with the present problem / crisis of the client. 8- nurse must be willing to take an active and directive role in interventions. 9-early intervention increases chance of good prognosis. 10- client is encouraged to set realistic plans and goals focusing on current situation |
