ANT distal end of head covered w/ large convex articular surface for articulation with POST (proximal) surface of Navicular at Talocalcaneonavicular joint; INF cave-like depression

o    Located ANT and slightly LAT to INF surface of Talar head; articulates w/ Anterior Talar facet on SUP surface of Calcaneus (Talocalcaneonavicular Joint)

o   located POST and slightly MED to Anterior Calcaneal facet; articulates w/ Middle Talar facet on SUP surface of Sustentaculum Tali of Calcaneus

o   facet for Plantar Calcaneonavicular (Spring) Ligament on plantar surface of talar head; articulates w/ SUP surface of spring ligament which has triangular fibrocartilage
