1-Hands are clean (sterile field) @ good height for body mechanics [all other ppe is applied beforehand] 2-Open package noting R and L gloves (Assure package stays open without touching gloves, arrange gloves so the cuffs are nearest you) 3- Put 1st glove on dominant hand using the folded cuff (Grasp the inside of the folded cuff and allow cuff to remain folded) 4- Pick up the 2nd glove with the sterile gloved hand in the cuff of the glove (slide fingers between the underside of the cuff and the outer side of the palm of the glove, watch your thumb, pull over the gown cuff) 5- Readjust each glove when both gloves are on (pull first cuff over the cuff of the gown being careful not to touch the gown) |
